Klausenhof in Bornhagen

Not only the food is something special in the Klausenhof but also the history of the sausage museum which is also run by the Klausenhof. Just great to learn a bit about the home of Eichsfeld and traditional house slaughter.

A very nicely furnished inn. You can see immediately that the owners have put a lot of passion into this. When it comes to eating, you can also tell that there is no mass cooking here. Staff is very friendly. In my opinion, the prices are justified here. I can only recommend this inn. Afterwards, the castle is worth a visit, it is located above the village.

The best food I've ever eaten outside of home :-). The salad was awesome in 2019, in 2020 I loved a roast plate ... if it weren't that far, I would go there more often. Cool!

You can't cook better! Such delicious sophistication is rarely available. You have come to the right place here if you love good food! The waiters were genuine, polite and extremely hospitable. Worth it!

A very nice inn that invites you to linger even in times of Corona. Were here for the barbecue evening and were actually fully enthusiastic and almost full after the first course! Wonderful overnight stay in the Fürstenzimmer and a great breakfast with regional dishes. We would have gladly taken some of the homemade sausage with us, but since we were still on the road for some time and the temperatures were very hot, unfortunately no chance ... All the best!

The staff was very polite and courteous. Unfortunately, the prices are on the high level and far from what you would expect in such a restaurant. In addition, the dishes are very special and we missed traditional Thuringian dishes. All in all, an average rating, because unfortunately nothing adequate was on offer for us and if I want star cuisine, I tend to look for it in non-rural areas. I also dare to doubt that many residents dine here, as there was nothing home-style on the menu. We didn't try anything because nothing was promised to us.

Outstanding restaurant with first class dishes. Were for a candlelight dinner at the Klausenhof. The 5-course menu was lovingly served with seasonal ingredients and delicious accompanying drinks. The staff was friendly, quick and accommodating. TOP recommendation !!!

Very big cinema! "Tischlein deck dich" with a larger group and I still dream of the goulash and the duck. Fantastic black beer, very attentive service. Clear recommendation

Simply amazing food! Wow! If there isn’t a Michelin star soon, then I am concerned... the only downside was the very grumpy waitress (older lady) who didn’t serve us that well...

Since I have often been a guest in the Klausenhof and have already stayed there, I can say that everything is really very good. Starting with the friendly service, the food .... as well as the breakfast ... and also the overnight room. The ambience is of course incomparable .... you don't find it that often in this area. You should only take a little time with everything 😄 .. A real cracker is the morning breakfast ... Plenty of everything and something for every taste ... I certainly haven't been there for the last time 😄😄

First-class cuisine, very special preparation, variation of traditional dishes. Friendly staff, we cautiously asked for a warm meal 12 minutes after the kitchen closed ... Of course.

Very child-friendly, dishes are fresh and homemade. For game there is an extra showcase to hang out. For the herbs, the in-house herb garden is located at the castle and is freshly harvested. All in all highly recommended, a real treat for the palate. We will come back.

We have come here several times as "warriors" and have put ourselves to the test of the horn! Simply unforgettable! We would love to come back! (The sour milk with cherries are just delicious!)
